About me…

My journey as an educator began when I was in elementary school.  At that time, I would line up my stuffed animals in front of the chalkboard I had.  It was amazing, those animals learned SO much!!

Now as a 30 year veteran, I have taught across the social studies spectrum: World Geography, World History, US History, US Government, Civics, Humanities (art, theatre, literature, dance, and music from the beginning of man to today), and Psychology.  In my current World Geography classes, I draw upon all of those experiences.

My parents were always interested in travel and thus were working overseas in West Germany when I was born.  They instilled a love of travel, nature, and cultures in my siblings and I.  Through their encouragement I have found ways to travel to Japan, Syria, Ecuador, Canada, most of the USA, and most of Western Europe.  In the Spring of 2019, I led a group of student and parent travelers to Costa Rica to experience other cultures.  Along the way, I hopefully, instilled a love of travel in them and the belief that they can travel on their own also.

My blog was born due to a professional development opportunity to Antarctica.
